For all those newbie product creators out there, let this be a great lesson for you. One week ago, John Reel was a no-name. Today, he has the respect of top marketers around the world. What factors played into John's success? Well, here's what I consider the biggest reason for John's achieving this goal. John did one thing that not many people do. John knew that he was inexperienced in many areas of the marketing. So, rather than try to tough it out alone, he surrounded himself with people who could help him achieve his goal and his dream.

About a year ago, John attended a live event. This was Mike Filaime's Internet Marketing Main Event held in Phoenix, AZ last September. There, John met many of the big names online and he joined a mentoring program that offered assistance in launching a product. John worked with his mentor, Tim Erway, closely over the next 6 months, and followed his advice to the letter. John knew that it would take a team of affiliates to make the launch go well, and he also knew that he didn't have the contacts to make that happen. So he hired me to organize the joint venture for him.

My philosophy is that in order to have a successful joint venture, you need only 3 things:

1) A killer product or service;
2) An even better USP (unique selling proposition); and
3) A package to tie them both together (your website and your marketing campaign).

If all 3 thing are in place, getting the people to promote is the easiest part of the process.

Together, John, Tim, and I worked at achieving these 3 things over the past 4 months. John already had a killer product. Sure, we made a few tweaks, and added a few features, but the core of the product (which is now the GoTryTHIS White Hat which launches August 1st) was already in place. I don't remember which of us actually came up with the "Black Hat" idea, but I can tell you that it was John who managed to implement the theme so beautifully throughout the marketing materials.

When I first saw his pictures with the devil horns and flames and the other with the halo, I knew we had a hit on our hands! When John first came to me, he was just a newbie with a $147 link cloaker. By the time that he, Tim, and I put the entire marketing package together, he was a "Renegade Programmer with a Black Hat Affiliate Marketing Weapon" that not only sold successfully at $147, it sold equally well at $197, and at $247!

If you are just starting out and have a great product or an idea for a great product, take a few lessons from John. Find a way to differetiate your product from the others that are already out there. Don't be afraid to stretch your limits a little or be creative either. If you already have a killer product, focus your efforts on developing your USP and integrating into your marketing campaign flawlessly. It will make all the difference in the world to the success of your launch!

Sure, it's been a lot of hard week over the last few months, and launching your own product will be too. But remember, you don't have to tough it out alone! In fact, you shouldn't go at it alone. Surround yourself with others who can help you achieve your dreams. Attend a few live events and meet others in your field. Learn from them and invite them to help you succeed as well.
